Questions, answered.
What is a "Watch"?
A Watch is one saved search scoped to a place you track — a state, a metro, or a ZIP + radius. You pick the place when you save it, and your plan sets how many Watches you can save: Free 1, Starter 3, Pro 15, Elite 40, Enterprise unlimited. Taxonomy is a filter within a Watch, so Cardiology in TX and Family Medicine in TX are one Watch (Texas) — tracking many specialties in a place doesn't use extra slots. Texas and California, though, are two Watches.
What counts as a "provider"?
Each individual or organization you monitor counts as one provider. An individual is a person — a physician, nurse practitioner, nurse, or other clinician (Type 1 NPI); an organization is an entity — a group practice, lab, pharmacy, or facility (Type 2 NPI). For exclusion screening you can also monitor people and vendors without an NPI — most excluded individuals don't have one — and each still counts as one provider.
How is pricing structured for Risk and Growth?
Provider Signals has two products you can buy separately, each with simple flat plans. Risk (exclusion monitoring) is sized by roster — Free (up to 10 providers), Starter $120 (500), Pro $360 (3,000), Elite $600 (7,500); Enterprise above 7,500. Growth (new providers) is sized by Watches — Free (1 Watch), Starter $120 (3), Pro $240 (15), Elite $480 (40); Enterprise for unlimited. Watches are shared across your whole account. Every paid plan includes full contact export, all move signals, real-time alerts and CSV; API is included on Elite and Enterprise.
How many team members are included?
Each plan includes seats: Free 1, Starter 2, Pro 5, Elite 10, Enterprise unlimited. Seats are shared across your account — the same teammates use both Growth and Risk, not a separate set per product. If your Growth and Risk plans are different tiers, your seat count follows the higher one. Enterprise adds unlimited seats, roles, and SSO.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes — switch the pricing toggle to Annual to save two months (about 17%), on both Risk and Growth. Annual is your monthly rate × 10 — e.g. Growth Starter $1,200/yr (vs $120/mo), Risk Pro $3,600/yr (vs $360/mo). Start monthly and switch anytime; it's prorated automatically.
How do alert frequencies work?
Save a Watch and we email you when a new provider matches — no logging in to check. Weekly alerts are on every plan; daily and real-time alerts are on any paid plan. You can pause, change the cadence of, or delete any alert at any time.
What is the Organizations "new practice" filter?
NPIs come as individuals or organizations. A brand-new organization NPI is the strongest signal that a practice is actually opening (vs. a clinician who simply got a number at graduation). The Organizations-only filter isolates those signals and is available on any paid plan.
Can I change plans, and what happens to my Watches?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade anytime, prorated automatically. If you downgrade below your current number of saved Watches, your existing ones stay viewable but you can't add new ones until you're back under the limit. Seats work the same way.
Can I screen a provider from my own system?
Yes — that's the Provider Signals Screening API, a separate product. POST one provider or a batch of 100 and get back hit, review or clear with the matching source record, at the moment you hire, credential or bill. It runs the same engine as Risk and is sold separately — Risk watches a roster for you; the API answers on demand inside your product. Free to try with 100 records a month.
Is there a free plan?
Yes — the Free plan is free forever, no credit card: monitor up to 10 providers (Risk) or save up to 1 Watch (Growth). Paid plans are billed when you subscribe; upgrade or cancel anytime.
Is Provider Signals a healthcare provider database?
Yes — it's a continuously-updated healthcare provider database focused on newly enumerated providers and new medical practices from NPPES. Filter by specialty, ZIP, state, county, and individual vs. organization; export to CSV or pull via API. Unlike a static provider database, it surfaces what's new in your Watch each week — covering physicians, nurse practitioners, and organizations.
Where does the data come from?
From publicly available federal and state data sources, refreshed weekly. We detect newly enumerated NPIs and enrich them with specialty/taxonomy, location, and entity type so you get a clean, filterable feed.
Is a new NPI the same as a new practice?
Not always — an NPI can be issued at graduation or for administrative reasons. That's exactly why we filter: narrow by organization (vs. individual), specialty, and geography to surface the strongest "new practice" signals. New organization NPIs are the clearest sign of a practice opening.
Can I get the data into my CRM?
Yes. Export to CSV on any plan, or use the API & Enterprise plan for a JSON API, webhooks, bulk downloads, and direct CRM integration (Salesforce, HubSpot, and more).
Does this include contact details like phone or email?
Exports include the provider's NPPES record — name, specialty, full practice address and ZIP, practice phone and fax, NPI, entity type, and the self-reported license number where available. NPPES does not contain email or personal cell numbers, so we don't provide those; many teams pair us with their existing outreach data.
